Do you make your living as a musician? Yes!
Where else do you gig/teach/conduct/sing/perform? I am a guest soloist with orchestras and choruses throughout the area and United States. I have sung in Florida, Pennsylvania, and across the Midwest. I also am a member of the LAMC Chamber Singers and sing for school kids all over Southern California.
Where else do you sing NOW? Wherever they hire me! It always varies.
Recent solo roles or guest appearances: Mozart Requiem and Haydn Heilige Messe with LAMC, Mozart Requiem and Beethoven’s 9th with Pasadena Symphony; Ligeti’s Clocks and Clouds with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the LA Philharmonic; Messiah with LAMC 2007; Verdi’s Requiem in Pennsylvania 2007; Beethoven’s 9th with Pasadena Symphony 2007
Recordings/TV/Film: Vignettes: Ellis Island due out this December (a solo album); You Are (Variations) with the LAMC; Lady in the Water soundtrack; Click soundtrack; miscellaneous video games.
Highlights of your musical career: singing the National Anthem at Dodger Stadium… nothing like 40,000 people cheering you!
My favorite choral work: Bach B Minor Mass
A defining moment or favorite onstage experience: I had never really liked opera in college, but my first professional opera gig was onstage with Placido Domingo and Sherrill Milnes. I said, “Oh, I like this!!”
What are you listening to these days? Whatever piece is challenging me, or that I am learning! I have a new fondness for Berlioz and am always happy with Telemann, Vivaldi or a cappella jazz.
Anything you'd like to add about yourself? Anytime you are producing the Alto Rhapsody, I’m there!
