Do you make your living as a musician? More and more each year, for which I am grateful.

If so, where else do you gig/teach/conduct/sing/perform? I taught last year at Calarts, I teach voice privately, and I freelance.

If not, what else do you do as a “day job”? I work as a technical editor and marketer for the Natural Resources Group of Psomas, a civil engineering and survey firm headquartered in Los Angeles.

Where else do you sing NOW? Throughout Southern California—I sing with The Concord Ensemble, the Los Angeles Chamber Singers, and the Millennium Consort; I cantor at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Rancho Palos Verdes, and participate in other ensemble and solo opportunities as they arise.

Recent solo roles or guest appearances: Concert appearances with the LA Master Chorale, with the choruses of Pomona College, in San Diego with PACEM.

Recordings/TV/Film: With LACS— Padilla: Sun of Justice; TV: The Medium; Film: Soundtracks for 2012, X-Men Origins—Wolverine, Ice Age 3, Horton Hears a Who, National Treasure II, Semi-Pro, Click, Lady in the Water, License to Wed.

Highlights of your musical career: Being invited to record with Sting, performing Tan Dun’s Water Passion with the Master Chorale, the Stravinsky Project with the Master Chorale and LA Philharmonic (Esa Pekka Salonen’s final concerts), performing in my hometown with The Concord Ensemble

Favorite choral work: I have to choose one? Vaughan Williams Rest; Herbert Howell’s Requiem; Bach Mass in B minor; Duruflé Ubi caritas; Hugo Distler Weinachtshistorie

A defining moment or favorite onstage experience: Ending the Britten War Requiem in the dark on the stage of Disney Hall.

What are you listening to these days? Regularly, NPR and traffic reports.

Anything you’d like to add about yourself? I’m a member of an informal cycling team called Team Squishy…we’re attempting to ride the length of the western United States from Canada to Mexico in stages. Next stage is the Oregon border to Bodega Bay.
