Do you make your living as a musician? If you call it a living, yes.

Where else do you gig/teach/conduct/sing/perform? Member of The Concord Ensemble (vocal chamber music). Staff singer at St. Matthew’s Church in Pacific Palisades. Appear on their music guild concert series regularly. Various solos around town. Occasional recordings.

What else do you do as a "day job"? I'm a mom and an occasional hairstylist.

Recent solo roles or guest appearances: Performed Barber's Knoxville, Summer of 1915 with chamber orchestra and John Tavener's To a Child Dancing in the Wind with flute, viola and harp, Bach B Minor Mass with choir and orchestra. Upcoming: Mahler 4th Symphony Feb. '09.

Recordings/TV/Film: A few on Harmonia Mundi: Arvo Pärt, Carols of the Old and New World, Steve Reich's two recent premiers, a few movies and a few TV shows.

Highlights of your musical career: Singing Barber's Knoxville with orchestra and singing Steve Reich's i at Lincoln Center conducted by Grant!

My favorite choral work: That's like picking a favorite painting. Impossible. The variety is what is so thrilling.

A defining moment or favorite onstage experience: Being onstage at Lincoln Center, completely focused on Tehillim, knowing it's going well, terrified but thrilled and just in the groove with such fine musicians all around. It just doesn't get much better than that! Better yet, singing Barber's "Knoxville," being caught up in telling the story and knowing that the audience is right there, rapt, in tears.

What are you listening to these days? I'm embarrassed to say I don't listen to a whole lot of music. My ears and brain need a rest from all the music I do for my work.

Anything you'd like to add about yourself? I used to be a singer/songwriter. I'm also a visual artist. I do weaving and make jewelry.
