Music Director Grant Gershon to Audition Only Selected Candidates

The Los Angeles Master Chorale, under the artistic leadership of Music Director Grant Gershon, invites submissions for its annual auditions. Experienced singers with outstanding musicianship and sight-reading skills interested in auditioning may submit a resume, CD of solo performances and a recent photo to the Los Angeles Master Chorale by mail by January 14, 2009. Resumes will be screened and auditions will be scheduled only for qualified candidates.

Among the information that must be included on the resume are: applicant’s name, address, phone number, e-mail address, vocal part, photograph, qualified musical references, descriptions and dates of choral and solo experiences, and general musical training, including the name of the conductors under whom they’ve worked. Also required is a list of their major choral repertoire (especially larger choral works).

The Grammy-Award nominated Los Angeles Master Chorale, currently celebrating its 45th season as a resident company of the Music Center, performs at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. It is considered one of the finest choruses in the country and has been cited as a national leader for its innovative and dynamic programming and its commitment to commissioning new works.
