I am absolutely thrilled that you are visiting our website, and I am excited to tell you about the Los Angeles Master Chorale!

We are a professional vocal ensemble of 100+ singers performing at the fabulous Walt Disney Concert Hall. You may have heard about the incredible acoustics in the hall, and everything you have heard is true. Our singers are amazingly talented and very flexible. Sometimes you'll see all of them on stage – others times perhaps just 30. Usually there's an orchestra on stage, but you'll also find the Chorale accompanied by an eclectic array of instruments ranging from organ or piano to Persian Santur, Mexican folk harp or perhaps a wonderful brass ensemble. And, occasionally, you're lucky to hear us a cappella – an enormous treat in this wonderful hall.

The L.A. Master Chorale, according to the Los Angeles Times, is “the most exciting chorus in the country,” and we think they are right! Our company is focused on presenting the most innovative and adventurous concerts, focusing on the traditional and evolving spectrum of choral music. Through an audience survey last year, we learned that our audience’s is much like a wonderful journey—you never know what to expect around the next corner, but the adventure is fun, surprising, stimulating and often transforming.

We are extremely lucky that Grant Gershon -- one of the world's most gifted musicians – is our Music Director. Grant is youthful, exuberant, insightful and completely in love with music – all kinds of music. You'll discover that he programs imaginative combinations of interesting repertory that create new ways of listening to choral music. We call his programming "vintage Grant Gershon" because it is always so interesting and, well, fun. He has friends all over the musical world, and often they join us on stage – musicians from the classical world, Broadway and parts in between.

I hope that you will peruse the concerts offered on our season and be dazzled by what you can enjoy inside Walt Disney Concert Hall. And, we have our own ticketing services right on this site where you can see the view inside Disney Hall and then choose your exact seats!

But, we do more than sing!

One of our most exciting ventures is to commission vibrant new choral works from the most creative and visionary composers of our time. And we have several commercial recordings as well. On this site, you'll find our CDs, including the Grammy Award-nominated Lauridsen-Lux Aeterna.

Our award-winning educational programs are a vital and integral part of our mission. I encourage you to peruse the Education Programs on this site and learn more about our High School Choir Festival, Voices Within residency program and our Chamber Singers.
