Upcoming: In celebration of the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth (January 27th, 2006), the orchestra is performing all 23 of Mozart’s original piano concertos over 15 months — a feat no other American orchestra has ever attempted. Jeffrey Kahane conducts all 23 from the keyboard, just as Mozart intended.
In the community: Meet the Music reaches thousands of elementary school students, most of whom have never experienced a classical concert before, and through Neighborhood Concerts, LACO brings live, professional performances to areas of greater Los Angeles where families have little or no access to the city’s cultural institutions.
