A MINUTE WITH THE MAESTRO!
Hear the Music Director tell you about this concert!
To close his 10th season, Grant reprises one of our most celebratory events, extracting the best of the three Sacred Concerts by the incomparable Duke Ellington. Grant shares the podium with James Newton to conduct 110 singers, jazz orchestra, soloists, and tap dancer in this extroverted work. The Sacred Concerts marked a personal artistic highpoint of Ellington’s career. This infectious music dazzled audiences before and promises to dazzle again. Amen!
I cannot imagine a more inspiring way to mark these 10 incredible years of making music together than with the ebullient music of Duke Ellington’s revelatory Sacred Concerts. My dear friend James Newton and I will share the podium as the Master Chorale, jazz orchestra and our incredible vocal soloists rock the house to celebrate! Grant Gershon
